About the project

The world needs an urgent transformation of the global energy landscape to slow down climate change and meet the goals of the Paris Agreement.

Part of the change implies a strategic increase in photovoltaics (PV) installation integrated into a strong growth of installed electricity capacity by 2050.

The success of this endeavour is tightly linked with a continued improvement of the PV cost structure by resorting to new products such as tandem solar cells.

SITA proposes a solution based on a CIGS-selenide tandem solar cell which combines two mature technologies with decades of experience, proven field stability and with established supply chains in Europe.
