INL - member of SITA - featured on a national TV prime-time special report on photovoltaics

INL, member of the SITA consortium, was featured on SIC TV national channel during prime time in “Futuro Hoje” - a science and technology special report that runs weekly. SIC correspondent, Lourenço Medeiros, delved into the work developed at INL on renewable energies, particularly on photovoltaics.

At SITA, we are exploring innovative concepts for tandem solar cells towards a sustainable, resilient, and inclusive energy future.

Sascha Sadewasser – SITA responsible at INL – states that "to enable Cu(In,Ga)Se2 thin-film solar cells for tandem applications requires transparent contacts, which have been challenging to realize so far. At INL, we develop schemes to reduce the formation of defects at the interface between the absorber material and the transparent contact, which would lead to performance losses. Additionally, we perform advanced nanoscale characterization of critical interfaces within these solar cell structures."
