VITO has 850 highly qualified employees who focus on five research programmes: sustainable chemistry, energy, health, materials management and land use.

The business unit Sustainable Energy and Built Environment involved in SITA has strong experiences with Life Cycle Cost analysis (LCC), Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) and sustainability assessments in general.

The team is actively involved in the performance of different LCA and LCC-related projects in Europe and abroad in which widely differing product types have been analysed, with both government and industry as target groups.
